A Trip To Historic Goliad, TX

June 2007

All pics by Miss Lana

This is an effort to share my memories of my trip to Goliad, the mission, the fort and surrounding areas. Please take your time and read the historical markers and other historical information that will take you back to a time when Texas fought for their freedom and for ours.  Dedicated to those that fought and died in these battles for the sake of Texas and its people.

Note:  This page is a work in progress...more to come.  Please visit again soon.

The grounds around the mission

The walls around the mission were originally 12 feet high. After the mission was abandoned and the town of Goliad starting growing, people from the town took the stones from the walls to build their town.
