It is with deep sorrow that I report our beloved Dave Avery, aka Dave Banar, passed on March 7, 2007.  Dave was a wonderful person and a huge supporter of Texas music.  His presence in our music family will be deeply missed.

About Dave Avery

Dave Avery lived on the south coast of Texas in Corpus Christi for several years.  As of January 1, 2007, Dave is the host DJ for the morning show on KHYI, a local independent Americana format radio station in Dallas.  Born in Managua, Nicaragua, lived in Dallas, New Orleans, Lafayette, Houston, East Texas and South Texas in the past.  It all adds up to different musical tastes and a love of great food.
